THE FORBIDDEN FRUIT

Adam and Eve had the privilege to live a stress free life, a life of liberty and total provision from God. They had access to clean pure water, and ate fresh fruits which means they were to glow and remain in good health through out.

I can imagine the serene atmosphere in the garden of Eden; with nothing but pure love, joy and happiness. No guilt, no shame but two fearfully and wonderfully made soulmates with clean hearts filled with good conscience. Genesis 3:8 actually states how God would take a walk in the garden, which clearly shows that God was highly impressed with their lifestyle, that he would walk through Eden. This is the kind of relationship God intended for those called by His name; but what does God see when he looks down to check on you? Does your courting relationship attract God’s presence or hinder him from taking it to a marriage level? Does your marriage relationship draw God close or put him in the parking? Can your family relationship or even your circle make God want to dwell within?

I want to believe God had great plans for Adam and Eve’s future, if not for their disobedience. Eve opted to do it her way, (self deception) than totally relying on the holy spirit for guidance. Genesis 3:1-7 She knew it was wrong to not only eat but to dare touch the forbidden fruit. Verse 6, The woman saw how beautiful the tree was and how good it’s fruits would be to eat, and she thought how wonderful it would be to become wise. So she took some of the fruit and ate. Then shared with her husband. As soon as they had eaten it, they were given understanding and realized they were naked.

When you access the right thing at the wrong time, it becomes a WANT than a NEED. The want later manifests into a demand then a habit. You then lose control of your emotions and pursue a good thing at the wrong time for the wrong reasons. The more You misuse and mis handle something for dinner or a person that was meant to help you in future, the less you value and the more you suffer loss. This explains why God hides our destiny; cos if He’d reveal his plans, some people would lose control, mess up and interfere with His plans. I can imagine how lust took toll upon Adam when he saw the nude curves of Eve.

2 Corinthians 5:7 says, that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Meaning, The old life is gone, the person belongs to Christ and becomes a new being, beginning a new life. One automatically becomes God’s project; a work in progress that only Him can complete. Many Christians allow distractions to separate them from the love of God. You’ll find a believer who’ve had several encounters with God or even total provision, being tricked with mere words by impatient human beings because of greed, selfish ambitions or pride. People whose walk with God begun very well but when you look at their lives, you wonder what went wrong? They feed from forbidden trees. Disobedience has costed them divine connections and Godly relationships.

Satan deceives by simply observing your behaviors, likes or desires, he then attacks your thoughts while you’re alone. Take control over your thoughts when alone. You may think what you do in closed doors affects no one. Some people console themselves that (self deception) ” if it’s not hurting anyone, it’s ok to do it” The fact remains that it externally affects your growth.

Philippians 3:12-21 > Paul cautions Christians from being controlled by selfish ambitions, and pride. Verse 18, there are many whose lives make them enemies of Christ’s death on the cross. They are going to end up in hell, because their god is their bodily desires. They are proud of what they should be ashamed of, and they think only of things that belong to this world.

Proverbs 3:1-8 {5} Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know. Remember the Lord in everything you do, and He will show you the right way. Never let yourself think that you’re wiser than you are; simply obey the Lord and refuse to do wrong. If you do, it will be like good medicine, healing your wounds and easing your pains.
